Sunday 13th July

Good weather again as we set off for the planned water stop at Cosgrove passing this lovely bridge on the way.

Just as we were entering I spotted the wide beam 'Still Rockin' it is a new boat whose build and launch I have been following on gongoozled.com.
While Graham and Alan were waiting for the water, Chris and I walked back along the tow path to have a look. We had a nice chat with the owners and hope to see it again on the Thames next month.

The man filling before us was the first unhelpful guy we have met on the canals. After about 45mins he announced that the tap was a slow fill taking about an hour and proceeded to take his dog for a walk! We decided to move through the lock and fill at another tap. While in the lock we were told the second tap was just as slow so we waited until we reached Giffard Park in Milton Keynes. No queue but still quite a slow fill.

Work boats at the lock. Anyone for diesel or gas?

We had hoped to visit the Peace Pagoda near bridge 81 but there are no designated moorings and the bank is a concrete edge. Onward therefore to Fenny Stratford where we settled down to watch the Football World Cup final.
