Wednesday 13th August

After a very leisurely morning we headed off towards Boulter's Lock to meet up with friends from Venezuela. It is over 20 years since we left there but we all had a great time there and try to meet as a group once a year when Edwina ( who still lives there) is back in this country. We all arrived at the appointed time together- a feat in itself. The weather was sunny and we set off past Richard Dimbleby's former home. It seems as if he is still there in spirit.

The ladies seemed to favour the bow section for the catch up with the men on the stern!

The weather stayed fine for cake, strawberries and bubbly with Edwina even being allowed to press the buttons to work Cookham Lock ( after charming the lockkeeper with Irish charm!)

Luckily we managed to moor on the pontoon just below Marlow lock and reconvened in a restaurant for an evening dinner. We are not sure what the waiter made of us all as the talking never ceased!
