Sunday 3rd August

Triathlon Day! We were up at 6am and on the tube by 7am. I was amazed at how many people were travelling at that time on a Sunday morning. Mind you, many of them looked half asleep! We arrived at Prince Regent on the DLR line in time to see Jess 's swim group set off and then later Nigel's. It was hard to identify anyone in the water!

Nigel said that he spent the first 50 metres just trying to breathe as people were clambering over him. Then it was out of the water and the wet suit to sprint upstairs and collect your bike.

It was hard to identify people as they sped by and we had no idea of their times. We did catch Nigel just as he was finishing the ride.

We waited near the finish line and were very pleased to see both Jess and Nigel survived the day after very little sleep as they only arrived home from America 36 hours earlier and were both jet lagged. Well done and thanks to all the sponsors. The Royal Marsden Hospital and Research into Cervical Cancer have both benefitted.
