Sunday 10th August

What a difference 24 hours make! We woke to the tail end of hurricane Bertha with heavy rain and wind. Luckily it calmed down a little after a few hours and we set off for Windsor. I hope that this boat wasn't left here as a result of last nights storm.

We entered Windsor passing the castle on our left.

The weather stayed fine until be were waiting for Romney Lock at Windsor when the heavens opened and we were soaked. The 'showers' come out of nowhere and are incredibly heavy.

We managed to get a mooring on Eton side where the gardens are private for the apartments with only public access to the quay. It was our own gated community for the night!

As you can see the weather had improved and it was back to T shirts. Graham and I saw Fiona onto her train for the short trip back to Staines to pick up her car.

Graham and I then took a walk around Eton admiring this Victorian post box and being amused by the necessary writing on this wall.
