Friday 2nd August 2013

We woke to good weather and walked into Disley for the paper and some shopping. The town is bi-sected by the A6 but once you get away from the main street it is quiet. This is our boat in its overnight moorings taken as we walked back from Disley.
We arrived in Marple about 1pm and filled with water. There are 3 mooring spaces opposite the water point and luckily a boat pulled away as we were filling and we were able to move across. Graham knows a health and safety trainer who lives here and his wife happened to be around when we were filling up and Malcolm came over later for a chat. Until recently they lived in a lovely house near Top Lock and are currently fitting out a narrowboat for their own use.

We strolled down to where the Launderette was indicated on the map and found that it does exist but is closed Sat. and Sun. We had to rush back to get everything and spent a very warm afternoon there!
