Friday 15th July 2016

An early start today (7.30am) as we began the haul up into Birmingham. The first few locks were still fairly rural although the people living in this adjacent lock may have trouble getting home insurance!

We passed under quite a few bridges. Here we are going under the A38M

We found a water point and it definitely felt like home. (Susie you may not understand this but we live in Cuckoo Farm Yard)

Birmingham is obviously ready for anything.

Our photo was taken just before the rain started!

After 14 locks we had reached a junction and headed for Central Birmingham and the famous Gas Street Basin.

The BT tower was passed in the rain.

We moored at 3.15pm having completed 27 locks with 24 of them set against us so we had to empty each one before we could enter. It was hard work. We have just been out to eat and are now ready to sleep.

We have 2 days to explore Birmingham although Graham has just told me that it is 58 locks to Worcester. Aaaaaagh.
