Saturday 6th July 2013

Stone- a large town which really embraces boaters. Lots of different restaurants and good supermarkets. We were lucky today as it was the usual market and also a Farmers market. We were there for 9am so the street looked quite quiet - it soon filled up.

Some of the food stalls had really unusual items. This one was all mushrooms. We are looking forward to sampling them tomorrow.

After leaving Stone at lunchtime we sailed leisurely along to just north of Barlaston where we have moored for the night. This is where the Wedgewood factory is situated although it is really just a visitors centre and museum now.  Such a shame. Tomorrow we hope to get through the Stoke locks and turn East along the Caldon Canal to Leek and Frogall.
