Tuesday 14th July

Discovered last night that the water heating system isn't working. It is fine whilst the boat is running but we need it if we moor for any length of time. We have arranged to get the heater exhaust repaired at Middlewich tomorrow and the engineer is meeting us at Nantwich on Tuesday. It's all fun on a Day's canal cruise holiday!
We travelled up to Middlewich past the Salt works.

Across the canal is the site of the original Bisto factory but it is all derelict land now.
Moored in Middlewich with the aroma of a 'famous' fish and chip shop. We shall resist. Unfortunately I have just read the information leaflet on the Ibuprofen which I am taking for my strained back and it says refrain from alcohol. Too much information can be a bad thing!

I had ordered an iron with click and collect from Tesco. The one we have is too powerful for the inverter. Collected it this afternoon and can thorough recommend the £4 1200W iron. Cannot believe it is only £4. It works a treat.

We found a pub tonight with wifi and wanted to back up phones/iPad. There was no one in the area where we were sitting so I plugged the wire into a socket gang which was on the floor. There were a couple of other plugs already connected. I switched it on and the whole of the ceiling lit up with blue fairy lights! Quickly switched that off and found a different socket. Good job no one was there.
