Friday 18th July

I heard the rain during the night but apparently I slept through 3 terrific storms with thunder and lightning! Graham said that the flashes were very bright and illuminated the whole boat. Another downpour occurred just as we were thinking of leaving so there was time for another cup of tea! 

Drying the bilges takes time so we never want to hear rain. We popped into Cowroast Marina for a 'pump out' and then down through 3 locks before meeting Adrian for lunch at Northchurch. When Helen arrived they were keen to accept a cruise down to Berkhampsted. ( we told them about the 3 locks once we were underway!)

We are moored opposite a very pleasant park and, more importantly, just along the canal from Waitrose.
